Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive
The Situation
Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude, family, and giving back. It’s a season when we reflect on our blessings and extend a helping hand to those who might be struggling. Our First Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive in 2024 embodies this spirit by bringing our community together to collect and distribute food to families who need it the most.
The Solution
By providing nutritious food to families, we hope to help alleviate hunger and ensure that children and adults have the energy and nutrients they need to thrive. Our food drives bring people together, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose. Volunteers, donors, and recipients all play a part in creating a supportive and caring environment.
How You Can Help
Drop off non-perishable food items at our collection points. Every can, box, and bag of food helps provide a meal for someone in need.
Financial contributions allow us to purchase fresh produce, dairy, and meat to include in our food packages. You can donate online through our website or at any of our events.
Join our team of volunteers to help sort, pack, and distribute food items. Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community and make new friends.
Spread the Word
Help us raise awareness about our food drive initiatives by sharing information with your friends, family, and social networks. The more people who know about our efforts, the more support we can gather. We will begin publishing our collection points to this page in September 2024.

How It Works
Our food drive initiatives will be community-driven efforts that rely on the generosity of individuals, businesses, and local organizations. The below is how we will make it happen.
Collection Points
We will set up collection points at schools, community centers, local businesses, and places of worship where people can drop off non-perishable food items across Port Charlotte, Florida. Currently we are however looking for volunteers to make this effort nationwide. These items can include canned goods, boxed meals, pasta, rice, and other staples.
Partnerships
We will partner with local grocery stores, farms, and food manufacturers to secure donations of fresh produce, dairy products, and meats. These partnerships will help us provide balanced and nutritious meals to families.
Volunteers
Volunteers play a crucial role in our food drive initiatives. They will help sort, pack, and distribute the food items. We also are in need of more volunteers to deliver food packages to families who are unable to visit our distribution centers.
Distribution
We will organize distribution events where families can come to pick up food packages. We also coordinate with local shelters, schools, and social services to identify families in need and ensure that our support reaches them.
